The open plan Chalet includes a warm fire set on schist stone hearth, the lounge adjoins the kitchen, which has chain hung shelves. Bespoke lighting around the chalet sets the scene for romance.   A king size bed with wardrobe space & suitcase solutions. The chalet has a separate luxurious bathroom, with a chain hung vanity.
 
Wake up and open one eye to enjoy the stunning views of Coronet Peak and surrounding mountains or sit under cover on the large stone patio and watch the rain trickling down the rain chains. Extensive historical artefacts such as antique milk cans, farm implements, and wine barrels will transform you to a bygone era.
 
Take a short walk along the stone steps and through the tussocks to the private open fire area in the old ruins.  Continue along the path to the private hot tub and soak away those aches and pains from a hard days skiing on the nearby slopes.  The hot tub is "open air" with 360 degree alpine views and with no city lights - there’s no better way to star gaze at night or watch the twinkling lights of the ski field on the mountain above. 

Please note the hot tub is shared with other guests and as we want you to be able to plan your spa we allocate either the odd hours for use (9am, 11am, 1pm, 3pm, 5pm, 7, 9, 11 etc) or the even hours (8am, 10am, 12, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm 8pm etc)  We will let you know your hours when you arrive.

Beautiful stay at the honeymoon chalet. The landscape is stunning and the hot tub is incredible. The outdoor fire place is also super cute. The living space itself felt larger than appears in pictures. Everything is wonderful - and is an easy 25 minute drive from Queenstown.

Hawk Ridge was quite possibly the nicest Airbnb we have ever stayed in and we travel a lot. The location has amazing views and a lovely, quiet neighborhood yet just 10 minutes from Arrowtown’s cafés,  restaurants, shops and museums.  The landscaping is meticulously done.  Michelle  has created a beautiful oasis. The cabin itself is beautifully built, well equipped for cooking and there was an outdoor fire pit and a hot tub.  The stargazing at night is incredible. The bed was super comfy and what a great shower.  Can’t say enough good things about this place and if you’re staying anywhere in the Queenstown - Arrowtown area this is a must.

I cannot say enough good things about the Hawk Ridge Chalet. The unit itself has everything one needs and a lot that one doesn't need  (like a working fireplace, a big shower with great pressure, an outdoor eating area, an unbelievable view of the countryside, and an outdoor hot tub), all of which make this place very, very special.  My wife and I have travelled the world together for 42 years and the Hawk Ridge Chalet is the game winner for us.  If you want hustle and bustle, this isn't the place for you. If you want peace and quiet in a beautiful setting, this is just what the doctor ordered. Michelle and Dougal are incredibly responsive and when we walked in we were greeted with a bottle of wine, cheese, freshly baked bread. Butter & milk were in the fridge.  The kitchen was stocked with coffee, sugar, tea, chocolate, a french press, a nespresso coffee machine, and an electric boiler. 10 minutes into Arrowtown and 20 into Queenstown by car. You will love this place.

Hawkridge is a beautiful place and would recommend. We went over New Year and it was beautiful. The location is lovely being about 10 minutes from Arrowtown and is remote and peaceful. The place is as described and everything works well eg we used the outdoor hot tub which was working and clean. The fire place was lovely (with high quality wood) and the BBQ was clean and heat consistent. The small things in the place are nice and of good quality eg linen, towels, pillows, bed, glasses, knives. The treats on arrival were generous and appreciated. Michelle was responsive and got back to us quickly on any questions we had. We used the kayak on Lake Hayes and it was beautiful and calm in the morning. The place is located on the Arrowtown bikes trails and we rode around for a couple of days which was amazing due to so many different terrains to experience (and the wine trail is super fun). We would like to go back sometime in the future when there is snow.

While we had high expectations for this AirBnB, they were exceeded! We stayed here for part of our honeymoon and had a wonderful time. The premises are gorgeous - we had a beautiful view of a green valley and snow-capped mountains, including Coronet Peak - a local ski resort, which could be viewed from the house and also from the hot tub. We had such a fantastic stay here - really a gem of a place!  We had some awful stormy weather but it was so cozy and warm with the fireplace and the rain outside that we didn't feel it spoiled anything.  Bed is super comfortable (on the firm side, which we like), shower great with high pressure and a small kitchenette with everything we needed.  The views are really breath-taking and the spa was the cherry on top!!  Delicious fresh baked bread, a bottle of wine of choice and a few other treats provided by the host, as well as great communication throughout.  The location has a real feeling of isolation but still close enough to Arrowtown and Queenstown to be convenient.  Highly recommend Ayrburn nearby for wine tasting and a great selection of restaurants.  We will definitely be back : )

I planned a special trip to Queenstown for my Fiance, who had never been to the south Island. I wanted to make sure it was a special experience and that she could see the beauty of the South Island. The Hawkridge Chalet was an absolute highlight of the trip. It is an absolutely breathtaking place to stay and open the curtains every morning to see the beautful landscpape. Michelle welcomed us from the moment we got there and made sure we were as comfortable as possible. She really made us feel at home. So much so that we ended up spending a lot of time in the chalet enjoying the view and spa. The Chalet was clean, warm, and cosy. Michelle's private chalet was the perfect choice for our short getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. We particularly enjoyed the outdoor spa which is just a short path away from our chalet. As the outdoor spa is in the middle of a field (surrounded by tall bushes so it's private), we could soak in the hot spa whilst enjoying the view during the day or night, it was amazing!

We spent so much time in the outdoor hottub (which is perfectly heated 24 hours a day - so we were out watching sunrise when it was 2 degrees and then late into the evening watching the milky way!!), outdoor fireplace and indoor fireplace. My partner (who loves night photography) got some incredible pictures of the milky way under the mountains. The bed was comfy, shower pressure amazing, cozy towels/dressing gowns. PLUS best of all - the little extras around the house we wouldn't have thought of that made it both right at home but luxurious. Thank you SO much Michelle - we will absolutely be back!

We absolutely LOVED this airbnb -- one of our favorite stays in NZ. In my opinion, it looks even better in person than in photos! It is so charming and has everything you need. The chalet was lovely. It is nestled between an array of herbs (so much rosemary and thyme, the smell was lovely), plants and golden grass. Everything this about this place was top notch! You felt like you were checking into a five star hotel the moment you walked in the door. Every detail was accounted for in this BNB, down to the binder with ideas on what you could do in the area. I can’t say enough how worth it to stay for a couple nights to soak in all the tranquility and peacefulness. My favorite amenity was the outdoor grill that is brand new and perfectly spotless. I grilled up a steak (cause I’m American) and then hopped in the hot tub to stargaze. You can see the whole universe from that very spot. Big fan of this place! And the hosts are very kind.

The views were stunning, the setup was private and the well-appointed furnishings and attention to detail definitely added to the experience. The location worked out perfectly too - it was nice to stay outside of Queenstown, yet close to nearby Arrowtown. We were there for 5 nights and made contact primarily with Debbie (co-host), who was very kind and helpful. The hosts provided clear instructions for how to locate the chalet; once we arrived we felt right at home and had everything we needed for our stay. During our visit, we used the spa (a perfect location for star gazing at night), made use of both the indoor and outdoor fireplaces, and cooked dinner using their gas grill. Overall we had the most amazing experience at HawkRidge chalet, and would feel lucky to be able to return again someday!

The chalet boasts awesone 360 degree views of surrounding peaks with Coronet peak as the main outlook.  Set in a quiet location it forms a great base to explore the surrounding are and Central Otago without getting caught up in Queenstown traffic. The Chalet was absolutely stunning with beautiful thoughtful finishing touches. The details inside the Chalet and outside in the surrounding gardens was amazing. The privacy of the outdoor fireplace and spa was just right with beautiful views at sunrise and sunset. This is by far the best air bnb we have stayed at and so romantic. There is not one thing we could fault! This was our first trip to Queenstown and we absolutely fell in love with this beautiful place!  The chalet was immaculate, has gorgeous views of the coronet peak during day and night times. Trust me, the pictures don't do any justice to the beauty of this place. Michelle and Dougal were the kindest and sweetest people we have met. Their response time was fast and they were very helpful and accommodating with everything we needed. The place is just 15 mins drive from Queenstown city center. Michelle and Doogal completely went above and beyond for us. We had booked initially for a quick stay and ended up eloping here (original wedding being cancelled due to Covid). Truly amazing stay just outside the hustle and bustle of adventure-seeker soaked Queenstown in the Lake Hayes/Arrowtown area.  The chalet at Hawkridge was spectacular, from the wonderful layout of the living area and amenities, to the fun design aspects, to the outdoor fire and  jacuzzi/spa tub under the stars!  We really didn't want to leave! The property and neighboring lots are still undergoing some construction, but that didn't bother us in the least.  Once completed, the Hawkridge Estate will be even more amazing than it already is! The Hawkridge Chalet was absolutely stunning, and Michelle was a wonderful host. The location was gorgeous, and Michelle thought of every possible touch to delight her guests. Coffee, tea, chocolate, marshmallows, heart shaped cookies, heart shaped bread, a little jar of cashews, granola & cereal, jam, olive spread, yogurt, milk, and bottled peaches were provided as treats, and it’s my understanding that she provides a gift basket of goodies for guests staying two nights or longer (which regrettably we were not able to do). Bath robes and sandals were provided for a trip to the hot tub, and there were all kinds of micro-decorations inside and throughout the outdoor spaces… you’ll have to discover them for yourself. (Look for the stone ladybugs.) Also notable was the utter silence… no human noises at all. The chalet is close enough to Queenstown to duck in for entertainment, but far enough away to be totally immersed in nature. Thank you Michelle for a wonderful (albeit too short) stay!

Upon arriving Michelle & Dougal were so lovely and were available if we needed anything. They even gave us a tour of their home and the beautiful surroundings! Walking down the stone steps to the chalet you are blown away by the private setting and views. The outdoor table was the perfect spot for breakfast and then homemade dinner at night soaking up the views. To finish of the day with a spa (again so private!) was second to none. The chalet is done beautifully and every detail has been accounted for so you really could stay for weeks on end! The special touches, like homemade bread, fruit from the orchard and breakfast were incredible. To anyone considering a trip down to Queenstown/Arrowtown, I would wholeheartedly recommend staying at Hawkridge Chalet. My wife and I had an amazing time while staying at the chalet and the location is faultless. The design and aesthetics of the house are like nothing else, and it is beautifully finished. The tiny homely touches meant that everything was thought of. The photos do not capture the full experience of the chalet, it is even more charming and inviting in person! The spa pool at night is an experience unto itself, especially if you can get a clear night under the stars. The ammenities and house are furnished to a very high standard. Michelle was also an amazing host; she was a pleasure to deal with, and was extremely accomodating with any requests or questions we had. I can not recommend Hawkridge enough! If we’re ever back in Queenstown, we will be sure to give the Chalet a look up to check if it’s free.
